We use saliva as a source of molecules to monitor and study the health of the individual and to stratify groups within populations. Molecules to be quantified are selected based on an in-silico analysis of the available information from our own (SalivaTecDB) and other public databases. These molecules are proposed as the most promising biomarkers and are subsequently validated through a wide range of assays applied to proteins (cytokines and other inflammatory markers) or DNA and RNA (both human and microbial). The technologies we use include Luminex, RT and qPCR and Capillary Electrophoresis. Our strategy therefore goes from Bioinformatics to Experimental validation and includes the following:
